The other day I received an email from Becky Mollenkamp who is a freelance editor who wanted to interview me for the International Pool &Spa Expo’s magazine.Becky is based in Des Moines, Iowa and later that day, I got an email from Larry Ballard, an editor I’ve gotten to know from the Des Moines Register asking me a quick question. I thought to myself, these two people need to know about each other: both are great people, both are editors and writers and both are in Des Moines!
So before I left for a meeting, I made a quick email introduction-and already the two of them have connected. This whole ‘transaction’ took me 3 minutes to write and a business connection was made.
Often we ‘think’ of doing these things–yet we forget to take the action step.
Today-when you have an ‘aha’ moment of introducing or creating some sort of connection, make sure to do it. Don’t just think it–ink it!
Also, it was an opportunity for me to call up one of my former clients to say hello and catch up–since he and his company are major players in the Pool and Spa industry!!!
Take the opportunity-and connect.
Everyday can be a wonderful networking opportunity!
