Hi! This is Al Martella – thank you to Andrea for allowing me to share some thoughts about networking this week.
I’ve always been a “game show” fan. Back in the day, there was a wonderful word game called “Chain Reaction.” The show opened with the announcer saying “This is Chain Reaction where one word leads to another and the right word can lead to thousands of dollars!”
To me, networking can lead to some great chain reactions. One happened to me just last week:
- Andrea has a colleague who is an entrepreneur who has just created a card game. The entrepreneur needed advice on how to market the game.
- Andrea mentions to him that I am a game lover. The entrepreneur and I talk and I’m able to introduce him to a friend who is a successful game creator!
- The chain reaction leads to a conversation with the two entrepreneurs who discuss marketing techniques.
How can you build your own chain reaction? When in a conversation with a person, think about whom you might introduce them to that share a (an):
- Interest or Passion
- Need or Desire
- Skill or Knowledge
You never know where that may lead!
