Tip of the Month

December 2009

THE NIERENBERG GROUP
Tip of the Month

December 2009

"Small differences in your performance can lead to large differences in your results."

"Give yourself a pause to reflect over the year and for preparation for 2010."

Holiday Wishes—

12 Days of Christmas or the Season With a Bonus

H Humor and Heart felt greetings go a long way—send something special to your whole network.  It can be something small—and specific to each group. Just be on their radar now and always.

O Open your home or office to a friend for a visit and catch up—share some eggnog or wine
 together.

L Listen to everyone you connect with. I am finding I am learning more then ever—by focusing specifically on my listening skills.

I Invite someone for breakfast, lunch, dinner or coffee—spend quality time together.

D Drop off a few gifts of appreciation for those who may not even expect one—do it in person if you can. Just send something— even a brief note— it is the thought that counts.

A Ask your friends, advisors, contacts--*your network---"what can I do for you?" and mean it. Then follow up by showing you are taking action. Be aware 24/7-accept yourself and reflect back on your accomplishments.

Y Focus on the other "You"—whoever you are with right now—needs to be the focus of your attention. That in itself is a gift.

W

Write some heartfelt notes and cards. This is the season—yet keep it going and remember that to truly touch someone to remember you can take up to 12 connects. Work your plan.

I Invest in yourself this year. Think of what you can do to increase your productivity in any area of your life and then find a way to do it. I have invested in my new web based service of staying in touch and it is both a marketing tool and a wonderful system that I learn from every day.

S Step out of your own comfort zone. When we start to think of the New Year and all of our resolutions—we often think it—yet take no action. Make a promise and commitment to set fewer goals—make them realistic and put them into action and with a specific goal you wish to accomplish.

H

Help someone out and find ways to ‘commit’ random acts of kindness. This makes two people feel good- you and the person you helped.

E Enter into every room—that could be a meeting or a party and smile for 20 seconds. You will feel better and have more confidence. It works... I practice it everyday and as I have told many who don’t believe me—I am an introvert—and now a learned extrovert. Smiling is for either style!

S (the bonus letter) — Stay in touch, Find ways to create synergies, Step up your own style and create systems for the New Year. The time to start is now and be sure to stay on track.

"Everyday is a day to say thank you"

We are deep into the holiday season and it is always a great time to say thank you to those who have helped us throughout the year in any way. Make a point to continue the process -that is a great goal for 2010.
