"Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish." Ovid
Just as I sat down to compose my tip for the new year, I received a wonderful message from a friend who literally had everything I was thinking for this tip.
It is the year for opportunity-however we choose it.
Look below and put some of these wise thoughts into your year:
- Take a 10-30 minutes walk everyday. As you are walking, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
- Sit silently for at least 10 minutes everyday. It is a major stress releaser!
- When you wake up, complete the following statement, "My purpose is to______today."
- Live with the 3 E’s - Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
- Vow to read more books than you did in 2008, even e-books.
- Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6 - you will learn a lot.
- Set a goal to make at least 3 people smile each day.
- Get organized and clear clutter - you will see new energy flow into your life.
- Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class, yet the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
- Smile and laugh more often - it will make you feel great!
- Life isn’t always fair, yet it is good.
- Don’t compare your life with others - You have no idea what their journey is all about.
- Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
- No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
- However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
- Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.
- Enjoy the ride. Remember this is not Disney World and you certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.
Look at this statement: Opportunity is no where or Opportunity is now here
I choose the second one!!
Have a great month and year!
All the best!
